There is a wealth of useful free homeschool resources, and knowing where to find the best ones saves hours of searching. Cailin Sandvig from Homeschool Buyers Co-op separates the wheat from the chaff and shares some of her favorite free homeschool resources from the Co-op's huge collection.
🎓 Montessori and the prepared environment: Maria Montessori taught that the quality of a child's learning environment, including the materials available to them, directly shapes the quality of their learning. She called this the "prepared environment." Free, well-chosen resources are a meaningful part of preparing that environment at home. Montessori also emphasized that parents and educators should be curators of learning opportunities, selecting materials that are purposeful, beautiful, and matched to the child's developmental stage. A thoughtfully assembled collection of free resources is entirely consistent with this philosophy.
